September 4 - Nick Bourne of the BBC declares
Songwriter Polly does it again! He is speaking of our one and only Polly Mackey of
Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle, who just won a prestigious
Make It, Break It Award for the song "The Way It Works."The award includes a 5 day
music academy held at the world famous Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (major patron is Paul McCartney), a
recording session at EMI's London studios and a personal meeting with EMI at their London offices, and a £500 Yamaha voucher for her school.
Among the judges was Chris Martin of Coldplay, himself a previous winner. Marsha Shandur, Presenter of "The Weekender" on XFM Radio
and one of the MIBI judges says:
Polly has a FANTASTIC voice - strong and with a really wonderful quality to it - it's interesting without being annoying and has something that makes me sad to my bones in a really good way. Love the way it breaks in the chorus. Loved the song - the piano refrain was haunting and the rest of it was lovely and full. I definitely want to keep an eye on Polly.

winner - recently won the Supajam competition which had been entered by more than 2,000 bands from across Europe. The band subsequently got
