The
Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) believes that every citizen in Texas deserves
the opportunity for personal growth and self-expression through the arts. TCA is a proponent of the basic human values of civility, citizenship,
and personal and collective accountability. The arts build character, promote creativity, develop higher-order thinking skills, and bring people
together by presenting and celebrating cultural differences. At the very core of TCA's funding and service programs is the responsibility for
recipient organizations to be accountable to the public investment and to their communities in the broadest, most inclusive way. Their funding of the
Austin Cultural Arts Division enabled a grant to Dart Music International that helped us greatly with our 2009
International Night at Friends on Sixth Street and
International Day at Agave on Sixth Street events.
